Job Introduction

As a Higher Apprentice Quantity Surveyor (Chartered) you will be bringing life to various projects! You will be in a client facing role, building strong relationships with the customer. The role will involve working both indoors and outdoors, engaging with numerous departments with a wide variety of activities to carry out.

Main Responsibilities

Activities may include:

  • Learning about the different business functions and what our contacting business does​.

  • Reviewing and preparing client accounts​.

  • Quantifying projects from drawings. ​

  • Generating payments and sub-contract purchase orders​.

  • Understand Tarmac's financial cycle and how and when documents need to be submitted to meet tight deadlines.​

  • Taking pride in all work completed and being determined to succeed​!​​

While learning in your day-to-day role, you will complete our Professional Quantity Surveying Programme, giving you a good grounding to start an exciting career in our industry. You will also be enrolled in our business core skills programme, providing further opportunities for personal development, networking and business exposure.​

The Ideal Candidate

Our people come from a variety of different backgrounds and prior experience isn’t always necessary for success. This following transferable skills and qualifications are beneficial in this role:

Qualifications required:

  • Three A levels at Grades A-C or a level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent. Applicants will also need Maths and English Language at GCSE level at a minimum grade 4/C or equivalent.
