Job Introduction

Main Responsibilities

A typical day working as a Trainee Data Analyst may include:​

  • Engaging with business teams to understand data needs, requirements, specifications, and objectives.​

  • Pulling together data from all different areas of our business and interpreting what this means, collaborating with the wider teams to provide insights that drive performance​.

  • Analysing patterns and trends within data and using it to ‘tell a story’​.

  • Designing reports that can be used during business reviews​.

  • Taking pride in all work completed and being determined to succeed!​​

Whilst you’re learning on the job, you’ll attend our Core Skills Development Programme designed to expand your business knowledge, strengthen core skills and offer networking opportunities with other graduates, higher apprentices and key stakeholders across the Tarmac business in order to successfully transition into your destination role​.​

The Ideal Candidate

Our people come from a variety of different backgrounds and prior experience isn’t always necessary for success. This following transferable skills and qualifications are beneficial in this role:

Qualifications required:

Five GCSEs (or equivalent) A-C or numbered equivalent (9-4) including English and Maths, or level 3 qualification, including A levels, NVQ, BTEC, or Level 3 apprenticeship.

Skills:

  • Analytical and data-driven​ mindset.

  • Good attention to detail​.

  • Microsoft Excel skills​.

  • A team player​.

  • Willing to learn and develop​.

  • Communication skills, communicates clearly and confidently​.
