We are currently looking for a Technical Sales Manager to join our Specialist Packed Products team. The main hub is based at Swains Park, Swadlincote but the team covers the UK and Ireland within its remit. This role specifically is covering the East Midlands and South East area.  

Our Specialist Packed Products Team is responsible for the sale of cementitious and bituminous products for a variety of construction applications. This role will involve selling materials directly to either contractors or via distributors to meet project requirements across new build or repair & maintenance applications.

You will be expected to be based at our sales office in Swadlincote once a week. The rest of the time would be either be home based or within a more local Tarmac office depending on the candidates' preference.

Main Responsibilities

On a day to day basis, the successful candidate's duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Manage and develop a geographical sales area including new business development. 

  • Management and growth of existing accounts. 

  • Product demonstrations. 

  • CPD presentations. 

  • Handle customer complaints to a positive outcome. 

  • Reporting on sales. 

  • Planning sales and appointment activity. 

  • Good housekeeping in all aspects of the role. 

The Ideal Candidate

Tarmac are looking to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the following skills:

  • Be able to demonstrate proven experience working within a fast-paced technical sales environment.  
  • Possess good communication skills and be numerate 

  • A proactive and motivated sales person 

  • Work well as part of a team and independently 

  • Demonstrate strong problem solving skills
