We are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our friendly Highways team in Norfolk.

Main Responsibilities

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be working as part of Tarmacs Norfolk Highways Team.

Typical projects are involved with Highways Maintenance:

  • Highways works
  • Footway reconstruction
  • Drainage schemes
  • Kerbing

You will:

  • Manage works packages £50,000 - £250,000
  • Be an integral member of the commercial team supporting the Managing Quantity Surveyor 
  • Build a strong relationship with internal and client counterparts 
  • Managing commercial packages from pre contract stage through to completion
  • Engaging and managing sub contracts including tender enquiries, award and assessment of monthly payment applications 
  • Ensure all Tarmac and client processes are followed to minimise commercial risk 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have proven Assistant Quantity Surveyor experience.

Prior experience of working on highway maintenance, highway construction or general civil engineering is desirable but not essential.

You will have:

  • Drive and ambition to succeed
  • UK Driving licence 
  • NEC3/4 experience
  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Numeracy and analytical ability

  • Good negotiation skills
  • Commercial awareness
