We are recruiting for a National Highways Framework Manager to join, support and lead the collaboration of the National Highways project of works.  This role will be operational from our offices at Mountsorrel, close to Loughborough in Leicestershire and you will be required to travel across the UK in support of this national programme.

The role is easily accessible from locations such as Manchester, Leicester, Birmingham, Leeds, Nottingham, Sheffield, Derby, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Rotherham, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Chester, Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Wolverhampton, Coventry and other commutable areas.

We are open to applications for the role of National Highways Framework Manager from candidates living across the UK from Yorkshire to the Midlands if you meet with the experience required, due to this being a hybrid working National role.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the National Commercial Director - Contracting, you as the National Highways Framework Manager will be Tarmac’s single point of contact with our client National Highways and will be required to manage and facilitate the collaboration across the operational regional areas.

Responsibilities of the role (not exhaustive):

  • Drive exceptional service delivery for National Highways as a key client, by promoting a collaborative and lean approach to framework performance
  • Collaborate and communicate with National Highways, other Framework contractors and supply chain partners, championing a one team approach
  • Monitor, review and challenge framework performance against the CPF
  • Collate and reporting on central reports for National Highways, including but not limited to Inclusion Action Plan, Quality Plan, Health and Safety Maturity Matrix and Customer Action Plan
  • Support National Highways and other providers to meet the overall programme and high level objectives
  • Cultivate innovation, drawing upon the technical expertise within the wider business to offer value for money solutions and ensure high quality pavement delivery
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of tender commitments to ensure we deliver the level of service promised at National Highways at tender
  • Take ultimate responsibility for the timely and efficient mobilisation of our service on each National Highways Framework
  • Work with Contracting personnel and support functions to ensure Tarmac presence on National Highways working groups and forums
  • Provide feedback and proposed actions back to leadership teams on steps to drive efficiencies, introduce innovation and continue to be a leader in our industry in the market

In the role you will be in liaison with stakeholders across the business, ranging from – Contracting Directors – Commercial Director for Contracting – General Managers – Supply Chain – HR Teams – External Clients

A car is available with this role and has the flexibility of Hybrid working

You must be able to travel across the region of work, this could be local or the entire UK

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role of National Highways Framework Manager, you as the ideal candidate will have experience in a similar position within the Highways sector. You will also be able to demonstrate proven experience working within a global company or a similar environment as a Highways Framework Manager; as well as possess exemplary management, leadership, and communication skills.

Specific Requirements:

  • ESSENTIAL – Demonstratable experience working at this level interfacing with National Highways
  • ESSENTIAL - Full UK car driving licence – no more than 6 points
  • Highly analytical
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • A Degree in a role related discipline would prove highly beneficial
  • Largely qualified by experience relating to industry standards and/or possess good Higher Education Achievement (HND/HNC Level)
  • Have a flexible approach to location in accordance with needs of the business
