We are currently looking for a Production Planner (maternity cover 12 months) to join our friendly team based at Tunstead Lime Plant in Buxton, Derbyshire. This role is on a temporary, fixed-term basis to cover maternity.

We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Lime Production Manager, the Production Planner is responsible for developing production plans to allow the Lime business to operate efficiently and ensure 100% order fulfilment.

This involves gathering and analysing orders, sales data, production forecasts and understanding how to efficiently produce lime in our plant.

The successful post holder will interact with Lime Production / Maintenance functions advising significant opportunities for Improvement to Throughput, Inventory levels and Operating Expense and liaise with Commercial / Logistics to identify any strategic opportunities for improvement (i.e. new product development, new markets, etc.)

In this role, you will also liaise with key suppliers of raw materials and haulage service providers to develop new ways of working to ensure operations operate as efficiently as possible.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience of manufacturing operations and knowledge of the lime production process and applications would be advantageous but not essential.

The role would suit candidates with relevant work experience or recent graduates with strong analytical and / or engineering background.

  • Basic understanding of lime production process
  • Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Excel
