Job Introduction

In a nutshell, our Procurement team buy the goods and services that enable us to operate in a profitable and ethical manner. Day-to-day your work as a Trainee Procurement Coordinator will vary but typical responsibilities could include:​

Main Responsibilities

  • Daily accreditation management – This involves managing an online spreadsheet which is used by the business to check our suppliers accreditation. It’s important this information is kept up to date! You'll need to liaise with the business, suppliers and our account managers from our accreditation platform to handle any queries.​

  • Managing Supplier Performance Reviews – these reviews are key to the procurement team understanding how our suppliers are performing within the business. You'll need to coordinate the process and make sure our category managers take any actions required.​

  • You'll spend some time on the Buying Desk which provides an important link between operations and procurement. Here you will also get chance to support the business with their buying requirements, approving spend and maximising value.​

While learning in your day-to-day role, you will complete Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations, giving you an excellent grounding to start an exciting career in Procurement  Further details of the qualification can be found here: https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/procurement-and-supply-assistant-v1-0 

The Ideal Candidate

Our people come from a variety of different backgrounds and prior experience isn’t always necessary for success. This following transferable skills and qualifications are beneficial in this role:

Required qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent), A-C or numbered equivalent (9-4) including English and Maths.

Skills:

  •  IT Skills (Microsoft Excel)​.
  • A team player​.

  • Willing to learn and develop.

  • Interested in procurement​.

  • Good communication skills​.

  • Organised.
