Main Responsibilities

As a Body Repair Technician, the purpose of your role will be to repair and paint the bodywork of any item of plant or company vehicle either hired or owned to ensure they remain roadworthy and maintain a good appearance, whilst keeping costs to a minimum.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the following:

  • Assessing damage, ordering necessary parts and carrying out repairs inc spray painting 

  • Ensuring all vehicles are repaired to a high standard 

  • Keeping an accurate description of parts, costs and repairs that he/she uses. 

  • Helps to maintain a high standard of Health & Safety in the workshop. 

On a day to day basis, the successful Body Repair Technician's duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • His/her own Health & Safety within the workshop and that of others. 

  • Other tasks related to the role; driving 

  • To own their own work, working to a high standard 

  • Responsible for ordering materials when required and prepp’ing equipment 

  • Order and Fit Decals to Plant, HGV’s and Company Vehicles 

  • Be aware of costs and ensure no unnecessary expense is incurred. 

  

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be in receipt of the following:

  • Some knowledge of car body repairs and Repainting. 

  • Time-served experience & some knowledge of Health & Safety 

  • Previous experience as a Body Repair Technician   

  • Driving licence 

Furthermore, it would also be desirable if the successful candidate possesses any of the following:

  • C&G in Automotive Body Repairs 

  • Undertaken Insurance Work 

  • Health & Safety trained 

  • Plant tickets; dumper, excavator, roller
