We are currently looking for a suitably qualified person to join our small friendly team at Chichester as Marine Operations Coordinator. This is a great opportunity to become part of Europe’s largest integrated marine aggregate dredging and processing company.

Main Responsibilities

Working as part of the Marine team you will report to the Marine Operations Manager. Responsibilities will include:

  • Maximise the revenue delivered by our fleet of aggregate dredgers to achieve efficient vessel utilisation.
  • Placing contracts for, timely and efficient ordering, and receipt authorisation of fleet fuel.
  • Programming the fleet across the company’s dredging licenses in line with customer material requirements.
  • Liaising as necessary with both vessel’s crew and customers.
  • Ordering and authorizing receipts for merchanted cargoes.
  • Responsible for the administration and organisation of port dues.
  • Through direct contact, maintain a strong working relationship with port authorities.
  • Communication with third parties where necessary, to assist with material supply to our customers.
  • Assist where required in general marine administration including crewing logistics.

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally you will have a marine or logistics background with exposure to logistics programming or will have worked offshore.

Capable of dealing with a variety of issues and of providing guidance and instruction to resolve them; excellent communication skills are essential.

Previous experience of SAP would be desirable. The role will involve some out of hours rota cover on weekends and bank holidays. Able to respond promptly to changes with programming and remain calm under pressure.
