We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager - RMX to join our Readymix team in the North of England, based out of Tarmac Agecroft Concrete Plant in Salford, Greater Manchester. We are flexible on location so if you are based in the North West, Yorkshire or the surrounding areas including Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Wigan, Stockport, Warrington, Manchester, Leeds, Bradford or Huddersfield then this may be the role for you!

Main Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the General Manager RMX – North, the role of Commercial Manager - RMX will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy for concrete, creating mutual value for Tarmac and our customers.  

The role of Commercial Manager - RMX will also be responsible for (not exhaustive): 

  • Optimising the profitability of concrete (& upstream sales), including value added products, solutions & major projects 

  • Direct management of the external and internal sales, delivering and exceeding targets through coaching and influencing 

  • Working closely with the wider regional and national commercial teams to optimise opportunities and profitability whilst delivering exceptional service to our customers 

  • Developing commercial capability and succession within the function, building performance of the external and internal teams 

  • Leading with a solutions mindset, to maximise value for CRH and our customers 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Commercial Manager - RMX will have experience working in a similar Commercial Management role within a manufacturing, heavy industry or construction organisation and you will demonstrate proven effective management, leadership and communication skills. 

Suitable candidates for the role of Commercial Manager - RMX will also have: 

  • Demonstrable experience of maximising value in a competitive commercial market 

  • Experience of developing and delivering a commercial strategy and delivering budgeting targets  

  • Proven people management ability and experience of managing successful commercial teams 

  • A recognised concrete related qualification, or equivalent experience 

  • The ability to negotiate, influence and empower 

  • Experience of managing & interpreting financial data in various formats 

  • Effective communication, tailored to the audience 

  • Confidence to step back from complex situations and review from alternative perspectives 

  • The experience of planning and organising teams to deliver innovative solutions for our customers 

  • A recognised leadership qualification is advantageous 

Please note this is a mobile regional role and a company car/allowance will be provided so you must be happy to travel. The role also has the flexibility of hybrid working.
