Job Introduction

We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer at Swains Park plant in Swadlincote, working closely to support the packing and material handling operations.

Main Responsibilities

As the successful Maintenance Engineer, you will be a qualified electrical technician and provide engineering support at the Swains Park packing plant.

You will manage all aspects of electrical and mechanical maintenance and plant reliability, including the management of breakdown cause and availability analysis. You will also be responsible for the identification and management of safety and energy opportunities and site-based projects, delivering a high level of technical support as well as hand on rectification.  

You will report directly to the Site Manager but work closely with the site teams and UK engineering team. You will be a people focused individual who enjoys developing and coaching others and will manage the maintenance activities on site.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Maintenance Engineer will be a time served electrical technician with experience within an industrial environment. Additional experience in mechanical fitting, welding and industrial automation would also be desired.

The candidate will have the ability to work autonomously supporting maintenance activities, identify solutions to maintenance, operational and reliability issues and complete preventive maintenance inspections on automated packing and palletising equipment.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Time served electrical apprenticeship with qualifications such as NVQ L3 or evidenced working within an electrical industrial environment
  • Knowledge of electrical standards and maintenance practices
  • Experience in investigation and reporting of maintenance issues, supporting solutions orientated approach to resolution.
