We are currently looking for a Technical Supervisor or Senior Technician (dependent on level of experience) to join our HS2 team based out of our head office in Solihull with frequent travel across the Midlands region. 

Main Responsibilities

This is an exciting new role which is being introduced to assist the HS2 Technical Manager in managing effective technical resource and product quality in line with Health and Safety and technical specifications. You will be hands on with testing concrete on site and at our batch plants on a day to day bases, along with supporting trials as required. In addition you will organise a team of technicians daily tasks on sites between Banbury and Birmingham. You will operate collaboratively to work with the operational and commercial teams to establish Standard Operating Procedures, minimising complaints and their costs. The role will require regular travel across the Midlands as you will be the essential link for all daily technical related issues related to concrete supply to 2 Joint Ventures working on this project (Balfour Beatty Vinci & Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM.) It is a exciting “hands on” role that will involve coaching and developing new technicians at new sites across the Midlands.

The Ideal Candidate

To succeed in this role, you would benefit from previous experience from a concrete testing back ground either site based or within a laboratory or similar background. It is more important that you are “hands on” with a good eye for detail in terms of concrete production, quality and testing. Supervisory or managerial experience will also be advantageous. You will also need excellent collaboration and communication skills that enable you to influence diverse audiences. A concrete qualification such as Level 1 and/or 2 in Concrete Technology would also be advantageous.
