We are currently looking for a Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our team based at Tarmac Cloddach Sand and Gravel Quarry, Elgin, near Inverness. This role will also support our other Tarmac sites in Keith, Lossiemouth and Inverness. The role is therefore easily accessible from Elgin, Forres, Kinloss, Lossiemouth and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for carrying out scheduled planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities at Cloddach Quarry and other Tarmac sites in the area to maintain plant condition and performance to support the delivery of the weekly production schedules. 

The role of Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will also be responsible for: 

  • Monitoring and maintaining condition and performance of the various plant equipment and identify any circumstances that could result in an impact on availability or performance while supporting the Quarry Manager to meet defined KPI targets
  • Carrying out mechanical activities safely and ensuring jobs are completed in a timely manner and leading mechanical breakdown and planned repairs to ensure expected plant reliability and to optimise plant and equipment performance
  • Ensuring most effective mean time to repair methods are adopted to minimise production disruption and downtime

As Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Fitter you will also be working at/supporting other Tarmac sites in Keith, Lossiemouth and Inverness. 

 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will be able to demonstrate mechanical maintenance experience gained working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment. 

Suitable candidate for the role of Mobile Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will have: 

  • Good working knowledge of mechanical plant and machinery (preferably crushing, screening, conveying, hydraulic and pneumatic systems)
  • Fault finding ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate action
  • Good practical knowledge and experience of maintenance systems
  • Ability to assess SHE risks arising from work activities and control risks accordingly
  • Knowledge of site-specific SHE procedures and Safe Working Practices
  • Proven evidence of using own initiative
  • Ability to work part as a team
  • Flexibility to support other Tarmac sites in Keith, Lossiemouth and Inverness
  • Fabrication skills advantageous
